Location
Menjangan is situated on the North West coast of Bali. This trip normally takes 3.5 hours by car from Denpasar. The journey takes you past rice terraces and local villages. Take your time and enjoy, this is not a trip you want to sleep through! There are 2 main routes to reach the resort. The first route is through mid west of Bali. Travelling through Bedugul, Munduk and Seririt where the main scenery is mountain, lakes & rice terraces. The second path is along the west coast of Bali. Past Tabanan, Negara and Cekik. The main attractions are the west coast line and the small cities with their traditional culture and open hospitality.

The Seasons

Bali is located near the equator bringing warmth all year round. The year is divided in to wet season and dry season. Wet Season runs from December through to April bringing Monsoon rains and humidity. The area is lush, green and full of life. Dry Season has much to offer also. Dry season introduces muted browns to the jungles landscape, the entire park takes on a new aura. Animals flock to the man made watering holes and are easily visible through the thinned trees.

Villa accommodation

Menjangan Jungle & Beach Resort have 12 Deluxe rooms at Monsoon Forest Resort, 2 Presidential suite rooms at Monsoon Forest Resort and 1 Compound villas at Bajul Bay. Monsoon Lodge
The Monsoon Lodge is a true retreat in the heart of the Bali Barat National Park. The rooms are set around an idyllic pool and Jacuzzi. Surrounded by trees, the Monsoon Lodges attracts birds, deer and other wildlife.  Enjoy all that nature has to offer without relinquishing luxury and comfort.

Water Front Gazebos
Stay in a Waterfront Gazebo and enjoy a return to nature. Nestled in the protected mangroves, each bedroom opens on to a private terrace with sea views across the bay. Wake up to the sun rising straight ahead of you, the coral reef shallows just beneath you and the dense mangroves all around. Lounge on your private terrace for the day or lower yourself into the turquoise shallows and snorkel the reef.

The Gazebos are available with either shared or private facilities. All bathrooms are open-air.

The Bali Tower is a one of a kind building. Made from 5 incredible logs, 33 meters long and 80 cm in diameter, the tower reaches above the tree line and offers excellent views across the bay and forest. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner or for a quiet drink.

Snorkeling
Snorkel in the local bay or join a planned expedition to Menjangan Island. Enjoy the vibrant underwater reefs and explore this unique eco system up close. Encircling Menjangan Island is one of Bali’s most vibrant coral reefs. Menjangan Island, also known as Deer Island Stretching for over 150m the rich aquatic life offers a symphony of underwater delights. Coral, sea fans and plenty of reef fish prosper on the reef. Horseback riding
Experience Menjangan National Park on horseback. Take in the views of the jungle and beach, guided by Menjangan’s trained staff. These beautiful horses are originally from Australia, now all twenty thrive in the national park environment.

Jungle Trekking
Explore the jungle on foot. Trained guides share their secrets, find out which leaf to use for antiseptic and which one to grab for the perfect manicure. Discover some of the best views, only reachable on foot. Keep quiet to discover the Menjangan, a unique species of deer whom the resort borrows its name from. Chance upon a monitor lizard sunning himself on a warm rock or a family of monkeys in search of lunch. Our guides can answer questions about our conservation projects and jungle life. This is a great introduction to Menjangan National Park.

Mountain Biking
Discover the 420 hectare property by bike. No need to be a skilled rider, this activity is more about discovering the national park on a greater scale than possible by foot. Spectacular views with chance encounters of local wildlife make this two hour ride a rewarding experience.

Bird Watching
With over 120 species of bird thriving in the national park, many on the endangered species list, a guided tour is a great way to discover them in their natural habitat. Look out for the Bali Starling, these rare and endemic birds are fearlessly protected as the fight their way back from extinction.
