Designed by award winning Australian firm Grounds Kent Architects, Karma Jimbaran’s luxury pool villas are inspired by the traditional Balinese garden compound design that has proven so seminal in the development of tropical architecture. Connected by paths that meander through lush equatorial gardens dotted with frangipani, each luxury villa consists of two or three separate pavilions framing a central courtyard complete with pool and sun decks set with thickly cushioned day beds. Traditional elements like the Balinese style garden walls and roofs clad in indigenous alang-alang grass blend with airy, uncluttered modern living spaces in hardwood, glass and terrazzo set with a mix of contemporary furnishings and local artworks. Top of the line amenities are used throughout including LCD TVs and SMEG appliances in the kitchens. Each bedroom features private en-suite bathroom and either king or queen sized beds.

Renowned multi-award winning New York chef, Raymond Saja serves up world-class cuisine in a zen-like courtyard setting, with a candle-lit shimmering pool as the backdrop. Karma Steakhouse is Karma Jimbaran’s signature eatery, a poolside destination restaurant cum lounge and a gourmet hub whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Villas

38 expansive luxury pool villas are scattered on a verdant hillside overlooking the tranquil waters of Jimbaran Bay. Each luxury villa mixes stylish contemporarism with traditional elements and boasts superlative facilities and amenities.

Accessed by carefully maintained paths that twist throughout the property, passing through stands of tropical trees and dense, vivid flora, each of Karma Jimbaran’s 39 luxury pool villas is a study in understated luxury. Designed by one of the region’s most respected design firms, Grounds Kent architects each of the one, two, three and four bedroom luxury pool villas takes its inspiration from classical Balinese architecture, with two or three pavilions giving onto a courtyard garden complete with 6m x 4m swimming pool, outdoor shower and pool deck set with softly upholstered sun loungers.

The villa design is unmistakably contemporary but perfectly complemented by traditional elements. Roofs are clad in indigenous alang alang elephant grass that convey a charming rustic character, creamy Yogyakarta stone is used throughout, while floor to ceiling glass narrows the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces. Living pavilions have an airy, expansive feel with their high-pitched ceilings with exposed rafters and cool marble floors set with low-slung lounges. Local artworks and antique elements subtly capture the spirit of the archipelago. All luxury pool villas boast top of the line amenities including the latest LCD screens audiovisual systems, broadband WiFi internet and top of the line SMEG appliances in the open plan kitchen. The generously proportioned master bedrooms are dominated by four-poster canopy beds and boast en-suite semi-outdoor bathrooms with oversize tubs and double vanities, while second bedrooms feature queen sized beds and both indoor and outdoor showers. The four storey Master Residence is a study in opulence, with its 24-meter lap pool and round the clock butler service.

The culinary hub is Karma Steakhouse, the resort’s destination restaurant, which offers a cornucopia of all day dining options from around the globe as well as providing the venue for regular special events hosted by visiting sommeliers in conjunction with Karma’s chefs.

With a food concept that presents all-day dining, it features the freshest of fare, including the best of imported steaks. The restaurant serves simple, unfussy and exquisitely tasty food, focusing on honest flavours and quality ingredients to create dishes that keep you coming back. Daily specials will appear amongst all those favourites.

Saja has also created a bountiful breakfast bar serving everything from cold cuts and cheeses to eggs Benedict, to more Asian-oriented preparations. The Breakfast Table marries daily baked muffins, croissants, country cheeses and off-the-bone ham with all the condiments you love. In fact, this is simply food that you love. The restaurant itself is simple, seductive and fun, offering an ambience that is both sophisticated and supremely relaxed. The venue is ideal for those private events, especially with a lounge upstairs – be it for casual dining or hosted private dinners and wine-pairing suppers with guest sommeliers. Take a shuttle up to sister resort Karma Kandara, where a cliff inclinator will take you down 85 metres of limestone cliff to a pristine sweep of sand giving onto a tranquil lagoon. This is Nammos Beach Club, Karma’s private Mykonian style retreat where wood fired pizzas, signature cocktails and a range of water based activities from snorkelling to kayaking to jet skiing can be enjoyed.

One of Bali’s eight cardinal temples, the most sacred on the island, is located just a 15 minute drive away in Uluwatu, suspended vertiginously on an outcropping of rock high above the surf. From getting up close and personal with Sumatran elephants to game fishing to white water rafting to Balinese cooking classes to horse riding. Located within the cool lush grounds of Karma Resorts Jimbaran, an affordable chic spa destination. Interiors feature glossy black timber floors, dreamy fabrics & batik furnishings. Drift away to the sound of flowing water & exquisite chants. Karma bodyworker’s train under the guidance of a Chinese health practitioner and have received Level 2 Reiki training. They are regarded for their healing touch and good energy.

Karma Spa offers a boutique menu of curative sessions that can be experienced invilla and at our new spa & wellness facility. Many ingredients used in Karma spa treatments are organically grown and harvested. Treatment-wise, try a bamboo stick seaweed facial, thermal back therapies and the unique hot oil blue glass massage delivered with a Japanese scrub made from wakame, sea salt, clay & cherry blossoms. Alternatively karma’s bodyworker’s deliver profound classic balinese and holistic massages. Seek longer spa time?
