NYEPI IS SILENT DAY CEREMONY
This year, the Balinese Caka New Year will be celebrated on Tuesday, 16th March 2010. In regards to this celebration, it is strictly prohibited for people in Bali to conduct following activities: no light may be lit, no work may be done, no travel may be carried out, and no amusement may be made. Villas and hotels are open but outdoor activities are forbidden and the guests are asked to stay within the villas or hotels’ area. Therefore we would appreciate your co-operation and understanding to minimize the use of light in your villa and stay within the villa area on the Nyepi Day. Thank you for your kind understanding and wish you a pleasant stay.
I have been traveling in Bali island last year when they have Nyepi ceremony. Actaully I didn’t believe, when my guide explain to me that Bali island become death island when they have Nyepi ceremony. On this day, I try to go out the hotels area, But the security stop me and explaint nicely that no body can go to out side. I just look outside from my rooms and no car, bike and people on the road. It’s funtastic for go green..
